Job Title: Global Resources Report Associate

Position Summary

The position supports the development of the Global Resources Report: Government & Philanthropic Support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex Communities (GRR), Global Philanthropy Project’s biennial resource tracking report which analyzes and documents global government and philanthropic support for LGBTI communities. 

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience in research activities, and commitment to global LGBTI human rights.

This is a full-time exempt, remote position with occasional in-person staff retreats or events, which may involve international travel. This role reports to the GPP Senior Program Officer for Research.

The salary range for this position is $60,000-70,000 USD, depending on the location of the applicant. Benefits include fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums, retirement options, and paid time off.

About Global Philanthropy Project (GPP)

GPP is a collaboration of funders and philanthropic advisors working to expand global philanthropic support to advance the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people in the Global South and East. 

GPP is a key source of strategic research and analysis for global LGBTI funders, and plays a central role in convening philanthropists and human rights activists in donor pre-conferences during regional LGBTI convenings, funder webinars, and other events.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist project management of the GRR.
  • Participate in and support all phases of the GRR data development process, including outreach, review, data entry, verification, and analysis, with additional administrative support to the report development process. 
  • This position is part of a team which reviews and codes over 10,000 individual grants during the report development period, and this position requires extensive review, coding, and verification of incoming grants data, drawing from directly submitted data and a number of external databases.
  • Support ongoing methodological soundness and data accuracy, including maintenance of the report methodology guide and taxonomy, and incorporating recommendations and lessons learned.
  • Develop GRR data analysis as required in support of the research team and GPP program staff. 
  • Actively participate in GPP organizational meetings, staff retreats, internal planning and project mapping.
  • Other duties as required.


Qualifications (knowledge, skills & abilities)

In addition to the above-listed job responsibilities, the ideal candidate for this position possesses most or all of the following:

  • High proficiency in Excel is required. Knowledge of Power BI and Power Pivot is optional but considered a plus.
  • English fluency is required. Additional language abilities are welcome but not required.
  • One to two years of professional research experience, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail; demonstrated experience in maintaining high research quality standards.
  • Familiarity with global human rights, LGBTI, and gender justice issues.
  • Knowledge of the LGBTI philanthropic landscape.
  • Experience in the following technology platforms: Google Workspace, Asana, Zoom.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with remote work environments and comfort working collaboratively across time zones.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Global Philanthropy Project.
